Woman, 87, rescued after blackberry picking fall

An 87-year-old woman had a lucky escape after falling part way down a 50ft (15.24m) drop in Devon.

The woman was picking blackberries in her Kingsbridge garden when she fell part way down the side of a quarry.

Police and cliff rescue teams were alerted to the incident and rescued the woman who had become entangled in the brambles 4ft (1.21m) from the top.

The woman was treated for minor cuts and bruises. Brixham Coastguard said she had a "very lucky escape".
