Husband charged with Barnstaple double murder

The husband of one of two women found dead after a house fire in north Devon has been charged with murdering them.

Neil Langmead, 40 from Barnstaple, has been charged with murdering his estranged wife Debbie Jones, and Donna St John, both 35.

The bodies of the two friends were found in Fortmead Close in Barnstaple on 22 August following a house fire.

Mr Langmead is due to appear before Barnstaple Magistrates on 11 September.

The 40-year-old had been in North Devon District Hospital for more than two weeks.
