Nottinghamshire PC jailed for having indecent images of children
A former police officer has been jailed for having indecent images of children.
Scott Mayor, who worked as a constable for Nottinghamshire Police, was jailed for six months after he pleaded guilty to six charges.
The 45-year-old, who was suspended from the force last year, was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Thursday.
Nottinghamshire Police said Mayor, of Inkersall, Derbyshire, had "brought shame on himself" and "betrayed" the force.
Ch Insp Paul Murphy, from the professional standards department, said: "Mayor brought shame on himself and betrayed the oath of office he took when he became a police officer.
"This was a gross breach of trust and invasion of privacy in a pre-meditated manner for his own sexual gratification.
"I cannot overstate the gravity of his breach and betrayal of his duty to protect the most vulnerable people in our society."
