Derby woman stabbed in face witness appeal by police

Police investigating an attempted murder after a woman suffered stab wounds to her face and neck during a robbery have appealed for information.

The 68-year-old woman was attacked at about 18:00 GMT on 5 February, on Grange Street, in Alfreton, Derby, by a man who stole her handbag.

Derbyshire Police said it wanted to trace two dog walkers who might be able to assist with their inquiries.

Det Sgt Gareth Fuller said officers had been distributing appeal leaflets.
