Daniel Gill death: Francesca Somers jailed for drug offence
A woman who supplied a drug which killed her friend has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.
Francesca Somers, 19, of Stanley Street, Somercotes, Derbyshire, was sentenced at Derby Crown Court after admitting supplying Class A drugs.
Daniel Gill, 19, became ill at his home on Chapel Street in Leabrooks in January after taking what he thought was ecstasy.
A post-mortem test showed the tablets actually contained the amphetamine PMA.
Derby Crown Court was told Somers had been unaware of the contents of the tablet.
The stimulant PMA - or para-methoxyamphetamine - has been linked to several deaths in Derbyshire over the past few years.
PMA has been listed as a Class A drug since 1977.
