Derby City Council chief Roger Kershaw suspended

A senior officer for Derby City Council has been suspended from his duties for a reason the council will not disclose.

The council said the matter involving Roger Kershaw is still being investigated and his suspension is a "neutral act".

Mr Kershaw is the council's strategic director of resources and his annual salary was £118,890 as of 1 January 2013.

The department he was in charge of had 700 employees as of April 2013.

The council said in a statement: "Derby City Council confirms that the above post holder has been suspended from duties pending further investigation.

"The council stresses that this is a neutral act.

"The council can make no further comment on this matter until the process has been concluded."
