Couple hurt in burglary at their Derby home

Two people have been injured in a struggle during a burglary at their home.

Three men burst into a house in Station Road in Chellaston, Derby, shortly after 20:30 GMT on Sunday.

One of the men had a knife and injured the occupants, a man and woman, during a struggle. They were taken to hospital with minor cuts to their hands and arm.

Derbyshire Police said a "significant quantity of jewellery" was taken from the house.

In a separate incident, two armed men broke into a home in Field Drive in Shirebrook, Derbyshire at about 20:25 GMT on Saturday.

The men stole cash before driving off in a car. No-one was injured.
