A man has been charged after Derby County manager Nigel Clough was pushed during a game at Millwall, on Saturday.

Mr Clough, 47, was allegedly shoved in the back in his technical area by a fan, who then ran away.

A 29-year-old man from New Malden, Surrey, has been charged with going into the playing area under the football offences act.

He has been bailed and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on 4 October.

The FA confirmed it is also investigating the incident which happened during Derby's 5-1 victory over Millwall at the New Den.

Mr Clough said after the game that he was more concerned for the safety of the players on the pitch, than for himself.

He said: "I just hope it doesn't take a player getting hurt before action is taken."
