The body of a missing Derbyshire man has been discovered in the water of a marina where he lived.

Danny Vallory, 58, was last seen on 29 September when he left his house boat at Shardlow Marina and walked to the nearby post office to buy newspapers.

Police received a call from a member of the public at about 20:00 BST on Sunday, reporting a body of a man in the water.

A post mortem will be performed at a later date, said Derbyshire Police.

Police, along with divers and mountain rescue volunteers, had been searching for Mr Vallory.

Mr Vallory's wife Georgina said he was a happy man and had no reason to disappear.
