Derby woman accused of making false rape claim

A 21-year-old Derby woman has been charged with making a false allegation that she was raped.

Derbyshire Police began an investigation after it received a report that a man had exposed himself to her on a Derby street in October.

In January, the woman told officers she had been raped.

She has been charged with two counts of perverting the course of justice after making a false report of rape and another of indecent exposure.

She is due to appear before magistrates in Derby on Thursday.
