Miniature book collection auctioned in Derby

A collection of 16 tiny books - some measuring just an inch wide - is to be auctioned in Derby.

The thumbnail-sized publications, which were discovered during a house clearance, include full reproductions of The Bible and a London Almanack from 1842.

It is thought publishers produced the miniature editions to showcase their craftsmanship.

Bamfords Auctioneers said they expected the collection to fetch more than £1,000 at the auction which is due to be held on Thursday 16 March.
