Acoustic Wednesdays continue at The Flowerpot in Derby with Woolley and Archer (21 December and 4 January) and Paul Miro (11 January).

The Victoria Inn has former Bluetones frontman Mark Morriss on 13 January.


Derby Quad's latest exhibition, A Darkness More Than Night, explores the aesthetics of noir through contemporary art. It runs from 11 November to 29 January.


This year's pantomime at Derby's Assembly Rooms is Dick Whittington and His Cat. Oh yes it is.

It stars Paul Nicholas, Linda Robson and Mike McClean and runs from 7 December to 8 January.

If pantomime isn't your thing, a new production of Roald Dahl classic The BFG is on at Derby Theatre from 29 November to 14 January.

Further afield comedians Jethro and Chris Addison are both performing at Buxton Opera House in the new year, on 19 January and 12 February respectively.
