Masked gang threaten Creswell householder

A man has been threatened by an armed gang who smashed their way into a Derbyshire house and stole valuables.

The householder, who is in his 30s, was sitting in his living room in Elmton Road, Creswell, on Monday night when three men broke down the patio doors.

Two were armed with baseball bats and the other carried a crowbar. They stole jewellery, a watch, cash, a television and a mobile phone.

Police said the victim was only slightly hurt but left badly shaken.

One man was described as white, in his mid 20s, about 6ft (1.83m) tall and with shaved mousey brown hair. He was wearing a mask across the bottom of his face, wearing jeans and a short dark coat.

The other two men, who were wearing balaclavas, could not be described.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
