Sledgehammers used in jewellery store raid in Derby

Police are trying to trace five masked men who used sledgehammers to raid a jewellers in Derby.

The men smashed the windows of the Gold Centre on Normanton Road on Saturday afternoon.

They then grabbed jewellery from the widow display before leaving the scene in a blue Peugeot, which was later found abandoned in Darby Street.

Police believe the men then got into a second vehicle. They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
