A woman was injured when a tree fell on her head while she was walking her dog in Derbyshire woodland.

Paramedics and Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called out after the "bizarre accident" in Crich Chase on Sunday.

The 60-year-old from Alfreton was put into a vacuum body splint because of fears she might have neck and spinal injuries.

But after being taken to the Royal Derby Hospital, her wounds were found to be minor.

She is now recovering at home, said a mountain rescue spokesman.
