Derby match-day parking ban introduced near Pride Park

Residents living on two streets near Derby's Pride Park Stadium have finally got match-day parking restrictions after an 11-year campaign.

Residents had complained about football fans blocking their driveways and causing traffic jams.

Yellow lines have been painted on Highfield Lane and Meadow Lane to stop football fans parking on match days.

A traffic officer was on duty in the area on Saturday to ensure the new regulations were enforced.

The areas affected by the parking ban include Highfield Lane and Meadow Lane in Chaddesden.

City officials said the regulations would also ensure emergency vehicles had access if needed.

Councillor Sean Marshall, chairman of neighbourhood board, said: "They [residents] have had enough of it... and it looks like it has worked as there were no cars there."
