Two arrests after Barrow two-month-old baby boy critically hurt

Two people have been arrested after a baby boy suffered life-threatening injuries in Cumbria.

Police said they were alerted by hospital staff after the eight-week-old was taken to Furness General Hospital on Saturday.

A man and woman, who are in their 20s from Barrow, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

They have both been bailed until 10 January, a spokesman for Cumbria Police confirmed.
