The victim of a suspected murder in Cumbria has been named.

Guy Hamilton, 35, died in hospital after suffering serious injuries in the Meetings View area of Ormsgill, Barrow-in-Furness, on Saturday evening.

Police were called to the scene after reports that a man had been seriously injured.

Mr Hamilton, who lived in Meetings View, was taken to Furness General Hospital by paramedics but died soon after, Cumbria Constabulary said.

Police are treating the death as suspicious and a spokesman said: "A 44-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and he continues to be questioned by police."

Detectives want to speak with anyone who was in the Meetings View area between 16:00 and 22:00 BST on Saturday or those who have information about incidents leading to the man's death.
