New arrest over FA Cup racist behaviour claim

A second arrest has been made after reports of racist behaviour during the FA Cup fourth round tie between Carlisle United and Everton.

Racial remarks were allegedly directed towards players following an Everton goal at Brunton Park on 31 January.

An 18-year-old, from Silloth was held on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment by words contrary to Section 4a of the Public Order Act.

He was later released on bail pending further inquiries.

On 3 February, a 15-year-old male from Carlisle was also arrested and later bailed.

Everton went on to beat Carlisle 3-0 in the FA Cup fourth-round tie.
