Biker crash death police officer given 'final warning'
A Cumbria officer found guilty of causing death by careless driving has had a final warning from the force.
PC Patsy Blakeborough collided with Scott Gibson's motorbike when she was driving a police van in April 2014.
She was sentenced to a 12-month driving ban and 180 hours of unpaid work in August, by Carlisle Crown Court.
A hearing has now ruled she committed gross misconduct, and will have to pass an intensive driving course to drive marked police cars again.
Assistant Chief Constable Darren Martland said: "We expect the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and conduct, from all police personnel at all times."
Mr Gibson, 23, of Barrow, was pronounced dead at the scene when PC Blakeborough hit him when performing a U-turn.
