Windermere boat death accused denies manslaughter

A man has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of his partner and her daughter who died after falling ill on a Lake District boat.

Kelly Webster, 36, and Lauren Thornton, 10, of Leyland, Lancashire, were killed by generator fumes on the vessel on Windermere in April 2013.

Matthew Eteson denied two charges of manslaughter by gross negligence at Carlisle Crown Court.

Mr Eteson, 41, of Church Road, Leyland, is due to go on trial in November.
