Kendal bypass £1m improvement work to begin

Resurfacing work costing £1m is to be carried out on a section of the A591 Kendal bypass in Cumbria.

Cumbria County Council is resurfacing the north and southbound lanes of the dual carriageway between Hawes Lane and the Shenstone interchange.

The essential maintenance work will be carried out from 22 April to 23 May.

A council spokesman said a contraflow system would be in place to divert traffic so motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
