Driver dies after tree crash in Cumbria

A 34-year-old woman has died two days after the car she was driving left the road and struck a tree in Cumbria.

Louise Evelyn Dorney, from Bothel, was driving a red Peugeot 207 from Keswick towards Bothel when the incident happened on the A591 on Tuesday.

She was taken to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary and later transferred to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary, where she died late on Thursday.

Cumbria Police appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
