Two men charged over Carlisle stab death

Two men have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Carlisle.

Joseph Howard, 34, died in hospital after being found badly injured at a house in Balfour Road on Sunday. The two men were arrested in Scotland.

Desmond James Young, 39, of Balfour Road, has now been charged with murder.

A 17-year-old has been charged with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice. They will appear before Carlisle Magistrates later.
