Man's body found near car pile-up in Cumbria

The body of a man has been discovered near the scene of a crash involving several cars in Cumbria.

Police believe icy conditions led to the pile-up on the eastbound side of Lindale Hill on the A590, south of the county, on Wednesday morning.

They also believe the man was a pedestrian and was hit by a car.

The crash involved at least three vehicles including a black Vauxhall Corsa, a black Seat Ibiza, and a green Fiat.

The eastbound side of the A590 is still closed from Newby Bridge while the police investigation continues.
