Keswick town £6m flood plan revealed

A proposed £6m scheme to strengthen a Lake District town's flood defences has been unveiled.

The Environment Agency has submitted a planning application to the Lake District National Park for a new flood risk management scheme for Keswick.

The town was hit by floods in November 2009 and the Agency wants to protect residents from future downpours.

Proposed plans, including a new wall on High Hill, will be on display at Crosthwaite Parish Rooms on 7 December.
