Stretched Lakes rescue teams boosted by £35,000
Mountain rescue teams in the Lake District are to benefit from a boost of £35,500.
In November 2009, Cumbria was devastated by floods which badly hit areas like Keswick and Appleby.
The Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association (LDSAMRA) rescued dozens of people and appealed for more cash to train volunteers.
Now the organisation has been awarded £35,500 by the Cumbria Community Foundation.
The LDSAMRA has 12 teams covering the Lake District which are manned by 450 professionally trained volunteers.
