Police warn drivers to slow down in Cumbria

Police have warned drivers to slow down and take extra care on Cumbria's roads to help reduce death and injury numbers.

Between January and June this year, two pedestrians were killed, six were badly hurt and a further 19 suffered less serious injuries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said the figures were a "real concern".

He urged drivers to slow down and pedestrians to take greater care when crossing roads.
