Biker named after fatal road accident in Cumbria

A motorcyclist who died in a crash in Cumbria has been named by police.

Bruce Doust, 46, of Norfolk Street, Carlisle, died in the collision with a lorry on the A689 near Hallbankgate, Brampton, on Wednesday.

His passenger was airlifted to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

A 24-year-old lorry driver, also from Carlisle, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed until 11 October.
