Fewer reports of anti-social behaviour in Carlisle

Fewer schoolchildren caused trouble during the holidays in Carlisle, police said.

Operation Nectarine was launched over the summer including in trouble-spots such as Belle Vue, Raffles and Morton.

Police said they were responding to complaints that children caused more trouble when they were not in school.

They put more patrols on and anti-social behaviour dropped by more than a third - 333 complaints compared to 520 last year.

Police also helped local organisations put on events to keep young people busy including archery, pole-jousting, face painting and bicycle obstacle course rides.
