A motorcyclist who died in a collision on a Cumbrian road was a devoted father, his family said.

Brian John Edmondson, 36, of Bootle, near Millom, died in the crash between his motorbike and a car on A595 at Waberthwaite, on Friday night.

His family said he was a keen motorcyclist, fisherman and rugby union fan and was devoted to his 11-year-old son Philip.

They said he had left a large void in their lives.

The car passenger suffered minor head injuries in the accident, but the driver was not hurt. The A595 was closed for about four hours.
