Cumbrian cyclists injured in collision with car

Five cyclists were injured when a car swerved into them on a road in Cumbria, police said.

The accident happened at about 1425 BST on Saturday at Mossband Hall on the Gretna to Rockcliffe road that runs alongside the M6 north of Carlisle.

The cyclists, all members of Border City Wheelers Club, were heading north when the driver of a Citroen Saxo heading south swerved into them.

All five were taken to hospital. Two were later released.
