Man charged after Coventry petrol station attack

A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an attack at a Coventry petrol station.

Officers were called to the Gulf petrol Station on Binley Road at around 06:00 GMT on Saturday, where they found a 36-year-old man with serious head injuries.

Marcin Scherer, 41, of Fusiliers Close, in the Stoke area of the city, is due before Coventry magistrates on Monday.

The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Mr Scherer is also charged with cannabis production.
