A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in the face as he sat in a car in a village near Coventry.

The 32-year-old victim underwent surgery after the shooting in Keresley End, at the junction of Somers Road and Rathbone Close, at about 09:15 GMT on Tuesday.

Warwickshire Police said the victim was taken to hospital by the car's driver.

A 22-year-old man had been arrested on Wednesday evening, they said.

On Thursday evening police were given more time to question the man.
