Warwick boy hurt in snowball fight crash

Officers are warning children to take care in the snow after a nine-year-old boy who was playing with snowballs was struck by a car in Warwick.

The boy had been playing with his brother and a friend when he was hit by a Ford Fiesta in Grassington Avenue on Wednesday, police said.

He fractured his collar bone and pelvis. The car driver was unhurt.

Warwickshire Police said: "Have fun in the snow but please be aware of the traffic around you."

Woodloes Avenue South was closed from Breese Avenue to Grassington Avenue from about 0820 GMT until 1040 GMT on Wednesday following the accident.
