A boys choir from Warwickshire is through to the final of the Choir of the Year 2010 competition.
Warwickshire County Boys Choir was formed two years ago by musical director Garry Jones after he survived a heart attack and changed his career.
They were selected from the children's category of the competition at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Saturday.
The group has already beaten more than 150 other choirs to reach this stage of the competition.
Since the competition began in 1984, more than 125,000 singers from over 2,000 choirs have taken part.
The final will be recorded live for the BBC and will see six choirs perform in front of an audience of more than 2,000 people at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
Prior to forming the choir Mr Jones was a schools inspector of music.
