A 16-year-old girl has died in a crash in Cornwall.

The teenager was in the back of a Volkswagen Golf when it crashed and overturned near Pendennis Point in Falmouth at 01:50 GMT on Sunday.

The driver of the Golf - an 18-year-old man - and another 16-year-old girl were treated for minor injuries at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Devon and Cornwall Police said no other vehicles were involved and appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The force said officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the car being driven in the Falmouth area before the crash.
