Four nightclub doormen have been found not guilty of killing a man after an altercation outside a venue in Newquay.

Michael Kearns, 48, died outside Sailor's nightclub in Fore Street in April 2013.

Lewis Bowns, 26, Graham Lutey, 35, Richard Favetta, 30, and Ian Harold, 46, all from the Newquay area, were all cleared of manslaughter.

Truro Crown Court heard Mr Kearns had been ejected from the club after assaulting a man with a bar stool.

After the case, Det Insp Stuart Ellis from Devon and Cornwall Police described the death as a "tragic incident" and said a thorough and comprehensive investigation had been conducted.
