A group of Jersey business leaders have elected a woman for the first time to be their chair.

The Institute of Directors has elected Wendy Dorman to take over from Jason Laity, who chaired the organisation for three years.

Ms Dorman has more than 20 years experience in financial services.

She said she wanted to make the institute relevant to young people, encourage diversity in business, and promote business-friendly policies.
