Collapsed Cornish fisherman airlifted to hospital

A fisherman who collapsed on his trawler off the Cornish coast has been airlifted to hospital.

Falmouth Coastguard said a distress call was sent out from Newlyn-based vessel Lisa Jacqueline Stevenson at about midnight.

A helicopter from RNAS Culdrose winched the fisherman from the trawler about 40 nautical miles off Land's End.

The 52-year-old was flown to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. His condition is not known.
