Draining work at Trenance boating lake

A popular lake in Newquay is being drained to help improve the quality of the water.

The work at Trenance boating lake will also help tackle the issue of pond weed.

High tides are expected over the weekend and draining the lake will allow sea water to be flushed through.

The work will continue until 29 November. Cornwall Council is warning members of the public not to wade in the mud while the lake is drained.
