Truro road re-opens after fatal accident

One of the main routes into Truro has re-opened following a collision between a car and a lorry in the early hours.

A man died after the collision between a Fiat car and a DAF lorry on Tregolls Road near the city centre.

The driver of the car, who was in his 40s, was confirmed dead at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske.

Devon and Cornwall police closed the road for about eight hours while officers investigated the accident.

Diversions were set up but some routes into the city were heavily congested for a time.
