Cornwall and Isles of Scilly get new police commander

A new commander of policing for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has taken up her post.

Ch Supt Michele Slevin took the role on Monday, replacing Ch Supt Elaine Marshall, who retired in October, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The 44-year-old officer has been with the constabulary for 26 years and has worked across both counties, including postings in Newquay and Redruth.

Ch Supt Slevin said she was "absolutely delighted to be appointed".

The head of the force's leadership directorate, Ch Supt Chris Boarland, had been holding the post on an interim basis since Ch Supt Marshall's retirement.
