Man breaks leg falling from cliff in Cornwall

A 51-year-old walker has been airlifted to hospital after falling off a cliff footpath in Cornwall.

The emergency services were alerted after the man was heard shouting for help on the eastern side of Rame Head, near Torpoint, just after 1130 GMT.

Tamar Coastguard crew and a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose were scrambled.

The walker, who broke his leg in the fall, was airlifted to Plymouth airport where he was transferred by land ambulance to Derriford Hospital.

His condition is not known.
