Man struck on railway line in Cornwall dies

A man was killed when he was hit by a train in Cornwall.

The man, who has not yet been named, was struck shortly after 0600 BST on the line between Par and St Austell.

British Transport Police and officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were were called to the scene at Carlyon Bay at 0615 BST.

First Great Western and CrossCountry trains were delayed by an hour between Penzance and Plymouth. Normal services resumed at about 0930 BST.
