Armed officers in Newquay arrest

A man has been arrested in Cornwall after an incident involving armed police officers.

Police were called to Newquay on Sunday afternoon and officers cordoned off the junction of Cliff Road and Berry Road.

Several hours later a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. No-one was injured.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said the man was being held in custody at Newquay and would be questioned later.
