Andrew Hasler named as St Ives murder victim

The family of a man found dead at a house in Cambridgeshire said he was "living life to the full".

Cambridgeshire Police were called to "reports of violence" at the property in Houghton Road, St Ives, at about 12:40 GMT on 8 January.

Andrew Hasler, 28, who lived at the address, died at the scene. A woman was also found with serious injuries.

A man in his 40s, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, remains in police custody.

Police said the injured woman is in a stable condition in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Officers from the combined Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit are now investigating the circumstances of Mr Hasler's death.

No further details of how he died have been released.

In a statement, Mr Hasler's family paid tribute to a "much loved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend".

The statement said: "Kind hearted and living his life to the full, he came into the world early and has left us far too soon. We miss you Andrew.

"The family is grateful for kind words from the many whose lives were touched by Andrew.

"We respectfully ask to be left to come to terms with our loss in private."
