Burglary gang targets Asian gold at 28 Cambridgeshire homes in a month

Owners of Asian gold have been targeted by a gang of jewellery thieves who have carried out 28 burglaries in the space of just one month.

Properties were ransacked in Cambridge, St Ives, Huntingdon and villages in south Cambridgeshire between 19 January and 24 February. Police are linking the raids to "one group of people".

Det Con Cheryl Harris said "gold and expensive jewellery" was taken.

Three men were arrested and a boy, 14, has been charged with burglary.

He will appear at Huntingdon Youth Court on 30 March.

The men were released on bail.
