Police are searching for the missing body parts of a woman whose torso was discovered in a suitcase, detectives have said.

The torso was found at a house in Mayor's Walk, Peterborough, on Friday.

A man, understood to be Vytautas Jokubauskas, 57, was arrested in the town on Sunday evening.

Police said a photograph of another man issued following the murder had been withdrawn after it emerged he had no connection with the case.

The force asked members of the media to take down pictures of the wrong man, saying "we now believe this is not the man we were looking for".

'Pungent smell'

The suspect was arrested in Clipston Walk at about 19:00 BST on Sunday and is being questioned at Thorpe Wood police station, a force spokesman said.

A post-mortem examination on the victim's torso began on Monday at Peterborough City Hospital and the results are expected later.

The remains were found in the Mayor's Walk property after other tenants reported a "pungent smell" and called police.

Forensic examination of the house has been carried out, the spokesman added.
