Driver jailed for Hartford A141 lorry crash death

A man has been jailed after admitting causing the death of a lorry driver killed when two HGVs crashed and burst into flames.

Phil Asplin, 59, of Cedar Close, March, died at the scene on the A141 at Hartford in Cambridgeshire on 10 March.

The driver of the second lorry, Vasile Chindris, 24, of Percival Road, Hornchurch, east London, admitted causing death by dangerous driving.

He was jailed for eight months at Cambridge Crown Court earlier.

Chindris was also banned from driving for three years.
